How do I adopt a family or child for the holidays?
Adopting is simple! Click the 'Browse Wish Tags' buttons above to browse available wishlists. You'll receive a specific list of needs and holiday wishes, along with detailed instructions on gift wrapping and delivery. It's a wonderful way for individuals or groups to bring joy directly to a neighbor.
How can my family apply for holiday assistance?
We are here to help. Families in the Lowcountry can apply through our 'Operation Holiday' program. Simply visit our Family Sign-up page to complete an application. Our team reviews every request with care and will reach out to confirm your eligibility and match you with a donor.
Where and when should I deliver the gifts?
To ensure gifts reach families in time for the holidays, please ship all items by December 15th. Delivery locations include our post office box at PO Box 242, Ridgeland. Once you are matched with a family, we will provide you with the exact drop-off location nearest to you.
Are my donations tax-deductible?
Absolutely. Herring Future of Hope Inc is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. All cash donations and the fair market value of new gift items are tax-deductible. We will provide a formal receipt for your records via email or upon request at drop-off.
I can't adopt a full family. Can I still donate money?
Yes! Every dollar helps. Monetary donations allow us to buy missing items for children's wishlists or provide holiday meals for families who aren't matched with a direct donor. You can give safely through our 'Donate' button at the top of the page.
